Sail Through Historical Picturesque Cities in a Romantic Cruise. Italy- Spain- France

Itinerary: Barcelona - Marseille- Savona - Naples - Sicily - Valencia - Barcelona.

Barcelona after Madrid is the second-largest city in Spain with a population of 3,200,000 people. The city is quite innovative, it is a center of diversity having a rich cultural heritage and impressive architecture. The main architects of the city - Antoni Gaudi and Lluis Domenech I Montaner made this European city world-renowned by their modernistic approaches. Gaudi's Magnum Opus is considered to be the famous Sagrada Familia as well as Park Guell, La Pedrera and Casa Batllo.

Marseille is France’s largest and busiest port, welcoming over 1.5 million cruise passengers to its shores each year. As the gateway to Provence and the south of France, Marseille is a popular stop on Europe cruise itineraries and offers ferry connections to Corsica, Sardinia, Algeria, and Tunisia. There is plenty to see and do in Marseille itself. Must-see attractions include the Old Port (Vieux Port), the historic Chateau d’If, Basilique Saint-Victor, Cathédrale de la Major Vieille Charité, Le Panier (Old Town) and the Notre-Dame de la Garde basilica. Small-group and private tours are often covered by a worry-free policy, offering a guaranteed on-time return to your ship. Marseille cruise terminals are spread out over a large area, so be sure that you know which terminal your ship arrives and departs from.

Savona - Once one of the major centers in Italy for iron, shipbuilding, rail workshops, engineering and brass, Savona is the capital city of the province of Savona in the region of Liguria. Savona has a large port accommodating, commercial vessels and cruise liners as well as providing a large marina for pleasure craft. On arriving at the port Savona appears to be a large, sprawling, modern city but the medieval center reveals a graceful, elegant city which is a pleasure to wander around. There are plenty of good bars, restaurants and although it is serene and tranquil by day it comes alive at night. The most amazing sights to visit here are Savona's Very Own Sistine Chapel, the Medieval Fortress and 19th Century Prison, Ghibelline Towers and the Art Nouveau Architecture.

Naples a city of art, takes the form of an amphitheater on the sea with Vesuvius, the coastal mountains and the islands of Capri, Ischia and Procida, and Capo Miseno as its landmarks. Its history is well-known. The territory was first colonized in 900 BC, when "Anatolian and Achaean merchants and travelers arrived in the gulf on their way to the ore trading centers of the High Tyrrhene" and founded Partenopein. Later, after the wars, Partenope was abandoned and took the name of “Palepolis” (old city). In 475 AD the inhabitants of Cuma founded Neapolis (new city) to the east of the original city. In the last few years, Naples has become one of the favorite destinations for all those Italian and foreign tourists who love spending their holidays in cities of artistic interest. Among the most attractive sights are enlisted Lungomare and Castel Ovo, Cappella Sansevero, National Archeological Museum, Galleria Borbonica (Bourbon Tunnel), Capodimonte Royal Palace and Museum, Catacombs of San Gennaro, Presepi Shops on Via San Gregorio Armeno, etc.

Sicily or the "stone" by Italy’s "boot" has Greek and Roman heritage, seemingly eternal sunshine and a warm sea even in November. Extending across over 1,000km, Sicily's coastline is extremely diverse, incorporating a mix of sandy beaches, pebbly coves and nature reserves touched by three seas. What is important is the knowledge that wherever you are in Sicily, you are never far from the coast, even when in the Nebrodi or Madonie mountains or in centrally-located cities such as Enna. Amongst the island's most dramatic coastal features are the cliff formations at Scala dei Turchi, near Realmonte, the famous tongue of sand at Tindari and the giant boulder-shaped islets off the coast of the Riviera dei Ciclopi close to Taormina. Sicily is a land of extremes and contrasts, a magnification of all things Italian. With its wonderful climate, Sicily is eminently visitable all year-round and each season has its own distinctive charm.

Valencia has around 1.5 million inhabitants. It has its large share of foreigners, attracted by the fast-developing economy and available employment. Valencia's gothic cathedral dates to the 13 -14th centuries, built in the modified styles of renaissance, baroque and neoclassicism. The MUST-SEE sights of the city are Torres de Serranos, LA Lonja de la Seda, Valencia Cathedral, El Miguelete, Plaza de la Reina, Central Market, Colo՛n Market, etcetera.
