BLACKROCK COLLEGE, Summer Residential School, DUBLIN

Blackrock is a large educational complex. It has extensive wooded parklands and playing fields with a magnificent view of Dublin Bay. The school was originally opened in 1860. Parte of this large complex includes "The Castle", which is a historical building formerly called Williamstown Castle, built in 1780 which now acts as the residential accommodation.

Blackrock is a suburb of Dublin. It is a largely residential area located 7 km south of the city center. A fashionable seaside resort in the eighteenth century, the town gets its name from the black rocks that lie off-shore which once marked the city limits. An ancient Celtic cross still stands in the main street.

Blackrock College, including Willow Park, is a large educational complex. It has extensive wooded parklands and playing fields of some 64 acres, with a magnificent view of Dublin Bay. The college is located beside Booterstown DART station and the city center is only a 10-minute train journey or a 25-minute bus ride away.

11-15-year-old students stay at Standard Residential House (twin, triple, four and five bedded rooms, showers and bathrooms are located on each floor). The building, which is actually a castle, is listed among Georgian property. It has gone extensive refurbishment in the last 3 years and accommodates approximately 100 people. Boys and girls will be accommodated in separate buildings. There is Wi-Fi on campus.

12-17 year olf students stay at Hosting Family Accommodation - A full board accommodation with a carefully selected host family is inspected by Accommodation Manager. Our host families will provide our junior students with a twin room on a full board basis and laundering of clothes, bed-linen, towels on a weekly basis. The Host Families are located in the South of Dublin city in areas such as Donnybrook, Sandymount, Booterstown, etc. All hosting accommodations are within walking distance from public transport.
