Munich, after Berlin and Bavaria, is the third-largest city in the Federal Republic of Germany. It is a city-pearl in Central Europe located on the Isar river in the south of the country. The city of Munich is one of the most attractive touristic destinations with its rich history and cultural heritage. First, Munich is mentioned in chronics in 1158 as Villa Munchen. However, in 1175 it received city status and got encompassed with city walls. The name of the city derived from the old german word Mönche meaning monk as it was considered that benedictine- monks were the founders of the city.

 

Zurich, located in the North-East of Switzerland, is the largest with its population city in German (1,383,092 people in 2019). This is the city of punctuality and wealthy people. Zurich is not only one of the cleanest and most comfortable cities in the world, but it is also the largest financial and business center in the world. Being situated on the picturesque river and a lake with the cleanest water, it is a very beautiful city - a perfect final destination where you can enjoy all the boons of life. The city was founded on the place of an old-Roman customes post Turicum by a Thracian monarch Louis the German II. He also established the Fraumunster Abbey for his daughter Hildegard in 853. Throughout the time the influence of the Fraumunster Abbesses grew so powerful that they started to reign over the city. In 1351 Zurich became the fifth member of the Swiss Union.

 

The Jungfrau is the highest summit in Switzerland. It is one of the main summits of the Bernese Alps, located between the northern canton of Bern and the southern canton of Valais, halfway between Interlaken and Fiesch. The Jungfrau is part of the Jungfrau-Aletsch area, which was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2001. Over the borderline of Bern and Valais regions, 4000 meters high above sea level, a magnificent view opens on the icy summits of the nearby mountains and glaciers. There is a unique railway, unusual museums, and interesting hiking tours through this place.The region of Jungfrau-Aletsch which is partially covered with unmelting snow and glacier is considered to be the mostimpressing highland landscape in the world.It is a living textbook for studying geological processes, the formation of glaciers and climate change on the Earth.

 

Lake Geneva - or, as they call it in France, Lake Leman,is the largest lake in Europe. It can rightfully be called the heart of western Switzerland. Every year, thousands of citizens and foreign visitors come to its crystal clear shores to spend their holidays here. However, Lake Geneva is not just another resort for wealthy tourists, as you might think at a glance. Did you know that the popular hit (as well as the most recognizable chords in the world) of the band Deep Purple called "Smoke on the Water" was written on the shores of Lake Geneva?

Day 1
Vienna

Arrival in Vienna. Meeting at the airport.

Hotel accommodation.

Sightseeing tour through Vienna.

Free time.

Day 2
Vienna - Salzburg - Munich

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Munich by bus or train. Upon request: optional excursion around Salzburg.

City tour: Cathedral and Cathedral Square, St. Peter's Abbey, Franciscan Church, Getraydgasse Street, Mozart's House, Judengasse, Old Market, the

residence of Prince archbishops, the palace and the Mirabel Park.

Upon arrival in Munich, a sightseeing tour through the city.

Day 3
Munich - Neuschwanstein Castle - Zurich

Breakfast at the hotel. Early departure to Zurich. Stop near the Neuschwanstein Castle - the most famous castle in Europe, built by the Bavarian King

Ludwig II (XIX century). Neuschwanstein Castle was the prototype of the fairy-tale castle of Disneyland in Paris.

Upon arrival in Zurich bus - walking tour accompanied by a Russian-speaking guide, a visit to Bahnhofstrasse, Frauenmünster Cathedral (stained glass

windows by Marc Chagall - internal visit is possible only if the cathedral is open to the public), Niederdorf, Paradeplatz, etc.

By bus we shall pass through the Central Station to the University Platform overlooking the city. Moving forward we shall move to the Belle Vu Square, the

Opera,  the lake square overlooking the University, UEFA, the Golden Quarter, Lake Zurich. From the female monastery we shall proceed to the Great

Cathedral, the "Niederdorf" district, the house of Lenin. WE shall see the oldest coffee house in Zurich, houses of medieval guilds and the city hall.

On returning along the left riverside of Limmat,we shall reach the Wine Market area, the excavations of Terme and St. Peter's Cathedral. After cresting the

Lime Hill you can see the Limmat River, the University, the Great Cathedral, the Church "Love for a Woman". We shall return across the bridge on Limmat to

Banhoffshtrasse, to the Pestalozzi monument, to the Bank quarter, walk along the Augustinian lane to the “Parade Square”. You will see the oldest

confectionery -"Sprungli" and the national cuisine restaurant "Arsenal" in Zuric.

Day 4
Zurich - Stein am Rhein - Rhine Falls - Liechtenstein

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Stein am Rhein (a medieval town on the border of Germany).

City tour. A visit to the Rhine Falls - the largest waterfall in Europe (entrance tickets to the waterfall are included in the tour price). There is the city

Schaffhausen on the left bank of the River Rhine, which was formed by a waterfall and is visible from the banks of the river.

Return to Zurich. Free time.

Day 5
Zurich - Lucerne - Interlaken - Jungfrau region

Breakfast at the hotel. Moving to Lucerne. A citywalk tour through the districts to the central station, to the concert hall along the embankment of the lake,

the bus will take the group to the monument "The Dying Lion".

Next to the "Swan Square", across the "Chapel Bridge" and the river Reuss proceeding to the "Cathedral of the Jesuits", the house of "Ritter" and the church

of the Franciscans are situated. Past the oldest pharmacy of the city we shall reach the medieval hydraulic structures. We shall proceed farther along the

embankment downstream to the "Dross" bridge. On the right bank through the squares you will see the "Grain Market" and "Wine Market", past the

fountain "Guardsmen" to the City Hall and the church "St. Peter".

Moving to the Jungfrau region.

Upon arrival -a citywalk through Interlaken. The tourists will have an apportunity to buy souvenirs and watches in the store "Kirchhofer" at up to 15%

Day 6
Jungfrau region - Jungfraujoch or Pilatus or the valley of waterfalls or Basel

Breakfast at the hotel.

Free day.

Optional: optional excursion to the mountains on the Jungfraujoch (3454m) (The tour is possible in winter and summer time).

Or an additional excursion to the Pilatus (the tour is possible in winter and summer time). The Pilatus is one of the most famous mountains in Switzerland.

Enveloped in secrets, riddles and legends the Pilatus proudly towers over Lucerne which has always attracted tourists. What is the connection between the

Mount Pilatus and the procurator of Judea Pontius Pilate, why Pilatus was called "Dragon Mountain" and other secrets will be revealed if You decide to make

this amazing trip. From the town of Alpnachstad, the train will take us to the top of the mountain (2132m) by cog railway which is the steepest elevation

angle in the world, reaching 48 degrees! From the viewpoint platforms of the Pilatus there open magnificent views on the surrounding mountains, lakes and

the city of Lucerne! Let's go through the "Pass of the Dragons" laid along several caves and grottoes. On the stone walls of the transitions there are depicted

images of dragons, and in the cave of Dominic there is a mysterious stone sculpture of a man. In the local restaurants you can relax and get acquainted

with national cuisine of Switzerland.By the cable car we will descend on the town of Kriens.

Only in summer ther is an optional excursion to the Reichenbach fall, the valley of waterfalls and the lake Brienz.By taking this trip you will be rewarded by

meeting the Reichenbach fall which Sir Konan Doyle made highly popoular by choosing it to be the death place of Sherlock Holmes.

Day 7
Jungfrau region - Bern - Gruyère - Lake Geneva Region

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Bern. Excursion to the historic center of Bern with a tour to the Bear Pit, the Clock Tower, the government building and

the arcades of the old city. The tour starts with a trip to the Garden of Roses from where a magnificent panorama of the old city opens which is a part of the

UNESCO intangible cultural heritage values. A stop at the Bear Pit. On the bridge Niderbryukke the bus will enter the old city by the fountains of the 16th

century, a small stop at the house of Einstein where the theory of relativity was developed, them we shall reach the Parliament House. Next - to the

historical museum, there is the fashionable embassy quarter and the Cathedral. Then - you will walk to the Clock Tower where the figures show the

performance,you will admire the  "Eater of Children" fountain, the Opera Theater and the Town Hall. Moving to Gruyere.  A sightseeing tour to the medieval

village where the castle of Gruyeres is located. There will be an opportunity to buy fresh Swiss cheese which is used in their national dish - fondue.

Optional: an optional trip to the chocolate factory in Brock.

Transfer to the Lake Geneva region.

Day 8
Lake Geneva region - thermal center or France

Breakfast at the hotel.

Free day.

Upon request:an additional trip to the thermal center in Lavey-Les-Bains. (Attention! The center may be closed due to technical reasons).

Healing springs will help you to relax. Underwater massages will return you beauty and youth, help to get rid of back pain. Hot baths will give you a boost of

energy. Eucalyptus hammams will cleanse your lungs. After the procedure you can enjoy a cup of hot chocolate or fragrant tea from the infusion of

mountain herbs. An additional excursion to France - Annecy, Ivoire (in summer) or Annecy, Chamonix, Mont Blanc (in winter) with a Russian-speaking

guide.

Day 9
Lake Geneva region - Vevey - Lausanne - Geneva

Breakfast at the hotel. An interesting ride through the Swiss Riviera.

An independent visit to Chillon Castle (12th century) , the place where Byron Chillon was imprisoned (entrance tickets to Chillon Castle are included in the

tour price). Moving to Vevey where Charlie Chaplin lived and was buried. A stop near the statue of Charlie Chaplin.

Moving to Lausanne (capital of the canton of Vaud). The city was built on terraces or on five hills with a beautiful view of Lake Geneva.

A small stop on the picturesque embankment of the city of Lausanne, near the Olympic movement museum park .

Moving to Geneva. Bus and walking sightseeing tour across Geneva.

The ride begins with a tour to the Cathedral of Notre Dame, Geneva's Kornavan station and the area of ​​international organizations, to the Nations Union

square. Past the Pearl of the Lake Park on the Mont Blanc embankment we shall have a stop at the mausoleum of Herzog Graunschweig.

Farther, the path lies along the Mont Blanc Bridge, past the island of Jean-Jean-Rousseau, to the left bank of the Rhone River.

Moving on to the National Monument,past Flower Clock you will find the English Garden to the Rosary of the Living Water Park.

Then we shall walk to the Russian church and through the Trenches boulevard to the New Square. Then you will have a walking tour excursion to the

Conservatory, the Bolshoi Theater, the Museum of Rath, monuments to General Dufour and Henri Dunant.Then you will have the chance to explore the

shady Bastion Park past the Wall of Reformers. By ascending the hill in the old town we shall reach the building of Arsenal, City Hall, St. Peter’s Cathedral,

Place de Bourg. Then we shall descend on the shopping quarters of Geneva and proceed to the Flower Clock on the waterfront of Lake Geneva with a

magnificent view of the Geneva Fountain - Zhe-Do.

Geneva
